Mechanical Engineer

Primary Responsibilities will include:

Analyze and develop design approaches for new, altered, redesigned or improved products, packaging and/or processes.
Design and document, rack systems, enclosures, card cages, cabling and other applicable components as required.
Work with minimum supervision, meet aggressive customer schedules, budgets, and produce thorough and accurate designs.
Interface with customers and develop products to meet the specifications established by the customer.
Maintain realistic project schedules and complete the scheduled tasks as planned.
Write and incorporate Engineering Change Orders.
Assign part numbers in accordance with the Documentation Control system.
Check drawings for errors and ensure that drawings meet customer needs.
Interface with vendors in regard to parts or subcontract work.
Participate in the continuous quality improvement process of the Total Quality Management program.
Ensure that designs meet EMI/RFI and safety standards.
Interface with the Manufacturing Department as needed for completion of projects.

Ideal Candidate Should Possess

B.S.M.E. degree preferred or 5-7 years experience in mechanical designs of sheet metal and enclosures for electronic equipment (IEEE1101.10 specifications).
Minimum of 4-years experience with Solidworks.
A minimum of 3-years experience with wiring and cable design.
Knowledge of cooling devices, interconnect components, peripherals, fastening techniques and EMI containment are mandatory.
Experience in Electro Mechanical Packaging designing enclosures, sub-assemblies and computer based products solutions for a number of market segments including Military, Aerospace, Communications, and Industrial markets.
Demonstrated ability to work in an environment of changing priorities, with very short project timetables.
Ability to interface with various departments.
Detail-oriented.
Demonstrated ability to produce highly accurate designs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
