Hybricon offers a broad range of products for Homeland Security applications, including backplanes, subracks, powered enclosures and integrated cabinets for Homeland Security applications.  As a solutions focused company, we develop customized solutions to meet our customers’ exact requirements.  Many examples of these solutions are described in this industry segment of the website.

As an active member of both VITA and PICMG, Hybricon is a leader in developing new industry standards, and Hybricon invests internal R&D to develop new products that comply with the latest industry standards.

Backplane technologies include VME, VME64x, CompactPCI, VXS, VPX, MicroTCA and PCI. Mechanical packaging standards include:

1. IEEE 1101.1, IEEE 1101.10, IEEE 1101.11, and VITA 48.1 for air cooled products
2. IEEE 1101.2, ANSI/VITA 30.1, and VITA 48.2 for conduction cooled products
3. PCI
4. MicroTCA
5. (future) VITA 48.3 for flow-through liquid cooled products

Our air cooled products and solutions are available in rack mount, wall mount, and ATR form factors.  Our conduction cooled products are available in both rack mount and ATR form factors, cooled by forced air, baseplate conduction, or liquid.

In both air cooled and conduction cooled applications, thermal management has become extremely important.  New and emerging technologies, such as VXS and VPX, exhibit significantly higher thermal densities, and require engineered thermal solutions.  Hybricon has invested significantly in the thermal management area, and is a recognized industry leader in high power applications.  To Hybricon, a 100W VXS or VPX card is not hot, it’s merely moderately warm.  Look further to see examples of some really hot applications.
