Naval Shipborne VME64x Enclosure Meets Rugged COTS Requirements
Ayer, MA., December 15, 2003, Ayer, MA., Hybricon Corporation announces the release of a new line of rackmount enclosures that are designed to meet stringent military shock and vibration requirements as well as extremely low MTTR. The card cage/backplane subassembly, power supply subassembly, and high performance cooling fan subassembly are FRU items with MTTR of less than 5 minutes.
The enclosures are configured with a 20-slot VME64x backplane (Mercury Race and Race++ certified). A unique slide-out removable power supply subassembly is configurable for a wide range of power supply requirements. High performance cooling is provided with an easily removable fan subassembly containing eight fans, stacked in series, with flow straighteners. Low structureborne noise levels are achieved using fan isolation mounting.
Additional features include:
- System monitoring for power, temperature, and fan failure
- IEEE 1101.10 compliant
- Front and rear ground clips provide proper grounding (per IEC 950 section 2) for all plug-in modules thereby reducing the chances of circuit damage by electrostatic discharge
