Raceway Certified High Power VITA 1.7 Compliant VME64x 21-slot Backplane
Ayer, MA., January 22, 2004, Hybricon Corporation announces the release of a new line of high power VME64x backplanes that comply with the new ANSI/VITA 1.7-2003 Increased Current Level for 96 Pin & 160 Pin DIN/IEC Connector Standard, which was approved by ANSI in August 2003. Able to handle over 150 Watts per slot, ANSI/VITA 1.7 provides a standardized way to implement high power VME64x systems. These significantly increased current levels require upgraded backplane designs to support the higher current power connections.
Hybricon's high performance, low noise VITA 1.7 backplanes are constructed with 12 layers for optimal signal integrity, with the outside layers incorporating a chassis ground EMI shield and have been tested to meet the signal integrity requirements of 320 Mbytes/sec data transfer per ANSI/VITA 1.5 2eSST. The backplanes are ANSI/VITA 5.1 RACEway qualified, with many Race and Race++ applications.
Additional features include:
- Stiffeners provide board rigidity (U.S. Patent # 6,084,182)
- Electronic Bus Grant (EBG)
- Card guide alignment holes
- P0/J0 connectors available (shrouded)
- Designed to the latest VITA 38 System Management Draft Standard
- ANSI/VITA 1.1-1997 VME64x Standard compliant
- High current internal ground planes, compliant with ANSI/VITA 1.7-2003
- Easy to wire 8-32 thread high current power studs, compliant with ANSI/VITA 1.7-2003
